Things you'll need to be able to do with pine
- Print e-mail messages from Leyburn Library terminals: you'll
need to tell pine setup that you want "attached-to-ansi":
- From the Liberty menu, choose 3 to enter pine
- hit s for setup
- hit p for printer
- hit 1 (that's the numeral 'one') for "attached-to-ansi"
Thereafter all you need to do to print an e-mail message that's
highlighted or displayed is hit the y key.
- Extract a message to your Liberty home directory:
- With the message highlighted or displayed, hit <CONTROL> e
- You'll be prompted for a filename (keep it simple --no more than 8
characters, no spaces, just letters and numbers)
- Retrieve a file from your Liberty home directory:
- Place the cursor where you want to insert the file in the message
- Hit <CONTROL> r; you'll be prompted for the filename
- Clean up a message that extends beyond the window (you'll see
a $ at the far right if you have such lines):
- Move the cursor to the end of the paragraph containing one or more $
at the end of lines
- Hit <CONTROL> j to 'justify' the text
